Wellness
n. a dynamic state of physical, mental, and social well-being. Some researchers and clinicians have viewed wellness as the result of four key factors over which an individual has some control: biology (i.e., body condition and fitness), environment, lifestyle, and health care management.
Mental Health
Mental health is a state of mind characterized by emotional well-being, good behavioral adjustment, relative freedom from anxiety and disabling symptoms, and a capacity to establish constructive relationships and cope with the ordinary demands and stresses of life.

Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. When it comes to your mental health, self-care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact.
About me
My name is Laura Valdes-Borsum. I founded Mindful Haven Therapy, LLC to provide individuals with the emotional support they seek and provide unconditional regard for their autonomy. At Mindful Haven Therapy, clients will receive individualized care designed for their mental health journey towards personal growth and healing. Mindful Haven Therapy provides a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences free from any judgement. I use an eclectic psychotherapy approach that integrates the practices of various therapeutic modalities with Eastern philosophy, and treats human beings as a whole, inclusive of the mind, body, & spirit. What unites our efforts is a commitment to empathy and a focus on compassion. Each person is a unique individual deserving of a unique individualized treatment plan. One size does not fit all.
